Home solar subsidy under PM Surya Ghar
Eligible households get a central government subsidy for a rooftop solar system. It is paid into your bank account after the system is installed and commissioned.
The scheme closes on 31 March 2027 (see pmsuryaghar.gov.in). The survey, approvals and installation take time, so apply early.

The subsidy stops growing at 3 kW. It applies to homes only, not shops, offices or factories. Amounts are set by the government and can change, so confirm on pmsuryaghar.gov.in. Last checked October 2026.
Who can apply
- You own the home, or have the right to use the roof
- The home has an active electricity connection
- About 80 sq ft of shadow-free roof for each kW
- No earlier government solar subsidy on the same property

How the process works
- Register on pmsuryaghar.gov.in with your electricity consumer number
- Apply for rooftop solar and choose a system size
- Pick a vendor registered on the portal
- The vendor installs your system
- The electricity company inspects it and fits a net meter
- Upload the commissioning certificate on the portal
- The subsidy is credited to your bank account

Your panels sit on this steel for 25 years, in sun, monsoon rain and dust. The coating on the steel decides how long it lasts, so we focus on hot-dip galvanized (HDG) structures.

How much can I save?
It depends on your system size and usage. We estimate your savings during the free site survey.
Do I get a subsidy?
Eligible home customers can apply under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. We guide you through the steps. Check current amounts on pmsuryaghar.gov.in.
What is net metering?
It lets you send extra power to the grid and get credit on your bill. We help with the application.
Will solar work during a power cut?
A standard on-grid system switches off during a grid outage for safety. Hybrid systems with batteries can supply power.
Which solar systems get the subsidy?
On-grid and hybrid systems are eligible under PM Surya Ghar. Off-grid systems are not. For hybrid, the subsidy applies to the solar plant and not the battery, so the battery is an extra cost. We confirm your eligibility at the site survey.
How much maintenance does it need?
Mainly regular cleaning and an occasional inspection. We offer maintenance support.
